Why fabric and foam are specified separately
Upholstered furniture in UK commercial buildings is expected to meet the relevant fire performance requirements, and those requirements apply to the cover fabric and the foam filling as a combination, not to the chair as a whole. A chair can carry a good mesh back and still fall short on the seat foam.
What we print in the catalogue
Every mesh task chair in the 2026 Desking & Chairs catalogue, from Bellamy to Motiva, is listed with "UK standard fabric and foam" on its specification. It means the seat and any upholstered parts are supplied to the UK requirement as standard, without a special order.
What to ask your supplier
Ask for the fabric and foam declarations in writing, ask whether they apply to the exact colour you are ordering, and ask whether a change of fabric changes the answer. If you are specifying a customer-supplied fabric, the responsibility moves to that fabric.
